Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) About Sunset Dental Bali
Emergency & General Dental Treatment
Do you offer emergency dental treatment in Bali?
Yes. Sunset Dental Bali provides emergency dental treatment for patients experiencing dental pain, broken teeth, infections, lost fillings, dental trauma, and other urgent dental issues.
Due to high patient demand, all emergency cases are assessed through our appointment system. Current patients are prioritized, and new patients may be placed on a waiting list depending on availability. We always do our best to accommodate urgent dental emergencies as quickly as possible.
Pricing & Consultation
Can I get an exact dental quote before arriving in Bali?
We are happy to provide an estimated treatment quotation before your visit. However, an exact quote can only be provided after a clinical examination and diagnostic assessment by our dentists.
Every patient has unique dental needs, and treatment recommendations may vary depending on your oral health condition.
Do I need X-rays before receiving a treatment quote?
Yes. Dental X-rays and diagnostic imaging help our dentists accurately assess your condition and provide the most suitable treatment plan and quotation.
Having recent dental X-rays before your appointment can also help us schedule the appropriate specialist and treatment time.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept a wide range of payment options for your convenience, including:
- Credit Cards
- Debit Cards
- Bank Transfer
- QR Payments
- Cash Payments
International patients can easily pay using most major payment methods.
Do you offer payment plans?
We do not offer in-house payment plans. However, patients with eligible Indonesian credit cards may be able to arrange installment payments directly through their bank.
Can my Australian health insurance cover treatment at Sunset Dental Bali?
Many Australian patients visit Bali for affordable, high-quality dental treatment.
We can assist with the documentation and insurance claim forms required by your insurer. However, patients are required to pay for treatment upon completion and submit their claim independently to their insurance provider.
Are there any hidden costs?
No. We believe in transparent pricing.
Your dentist will explain all treatment options, expected costs, and treatment plans before any procedure begins. In some cases, treatment costs may vary depending on clinical findings discovered during examination, but we will always discuss these with you first.
Bali Travel & Dental Treatment Planning
How long should I stay in Bali for dental treatment?
The recommended length of stay depends on the treatment you require.
For treatments that involve multiple appointments, such as dental implants, veneers, crowns, smile makeovers, or full-mouth rehabilitation, we generally recommend staying in Bali for approximately 7–10 working days.
Our team can help create a treatment schedule that fits your travel plans.
Can I travel immediately after dental treatment?
Yes. Most dental procedures performed at Sunset Dental Bali use minimally invasive techniques designed to reduce discomfort and recovery time.
Most patients are able to continue their holiday or travel plans shortly after treatment. Your dentist will provide specific advice based on your procedure.
What should I do before flying to Bali for dental treatment?
To ensure a smooth experience, we recommend:
- Booking your appointment in advance
- Sending any available dental records or X-rays
- Confirming your appointment when you receive our reminder message
- Informing us of any medical conditions or medications
This helps us prepare your treatment plan before you arrive.
What documents or dental scans should I bring?
If available, please bring:
- Passport or identification
- Previous dental X-rays
- Existing treatment plans
- Medical records relevant to your dental care
These documents can help our dentists better understand your dental history.
Trust, Safety & Quality Assurance
Are your dentists internationally trained?
Yes. At Sunset Dental Bali, our dentists regularly participate in advanced international training programs, workshops, and continuing education courses.
Combined with cutting-edge dental technology and modern treatment techniques, this ensures our patients receive world-class dental care in Bali.
Do you provide warranties or guarantees on dental work?
Yes. We offer a 1-year treatment guarantee on selected dental procedures.
Terms and conditions apply, and your dentist will explain the details relevant to your treatment before proceeding.
What happens if I experience issues after returning home?
Occasionally, follow-up concerns can occur after any medical or dental treatment.
If you experience discomfort or have concerns after returning home, simply contact our team. Depending on your situation, we may:
- Provide professional advice remotely
- Recommend medication if appropriate
- Suggest a local dental examination
- Arrange a follow-up visit if necessary
Our team remains available to support you even after you leave Bali.
Recovery & Post-Treatment Care
Will I experience pain after treatment?
Most dental treatments cause little to no discomfort thanks to modern techniques and effective local anesthesia.
If needed, we will prescribe medication to help manage any temporary discomfort during recovery.
Can I swim after dental treatment?
This depends on the type of treatment you receive.
For surgical procedures such as dental implants, tooth extractions, or gum surgery, we recommend avoiding swimming, surfing, diving, and other strenuous water activities for at least 24 hours.
For non-surgical treatments such as:
- Dental cleaning (scaling)
- Tooth fillings
- Dental check-ups
- Teeth whitening
Swimming is generally safe immediately after treatment.
Can I drink alcohol after veneers or dental implants?
After dental implants, tooth extractions, or any surgical procedure, alcohol should be avoided while healing and while taking prescribed medications such as antibiotics, anti-inflammatory drugs, or pain relief medication.
For veneers and other non-surgical treatments that do not require medication, moderate alcohol consumption is generally acceptable.
Always follow your dentist’s specific post-treatment instructions.
Can I exercise after dental treatment?
The answer depends on the procedure performed.
After surgical treatments such as dental implants, extractions, or gum surgery, we recommend avoiding heavy exercise, intense cardio, weight training, and strenuous physical activities for at least 24 hours.
For routine dental treatments such as:
- Dental cleaning
- Tooth fillings
- Cosmetic bonding
- Dental examinations
Normal exercise can usually be resumed immediately.
Your dentist will provide personalized advice based on your treatment.
